SeaWorld

I cannot express how truly, truly cheesy the Shamu show was. Indescribable. It way surpassed any Disney cheese that I have witnessed. (And believe me, my house sees Disney cheese on a daily basis.) However, the whale "behaviors" (haha, just call them tricks, SeaWorld!) were neat.

The shark encounter was easily the coolest part of the park. I took a video but the lighting looked awful, so I'm not posting it. I highly recommend it. We went through twice. Freaking sharks, with lots of teeth, swimming right over you! Awesome.

Big thanks to the newlywed Kulischs for the free tickets~

Oceanside Pier

Lots of fog appeared quickly, which was fun.

Walter enjoyed watching the birds fly. There were a lot of seagulls which really entertained him.

By the time we left, the beach was back to wonderfully sunny California weather.

Tidepools at Sunset

We hit the beach with some cousins. If you are wondering where Walter is, please know that he was back at the house with people who were entertaining and enjoying him. I must say, it is nice to have so many willing babysitters around.

San Diego Temple

Yeah! Stephanie and David were married and everything was beautiful. Rather than pick and choose between a bunch of pics here - I suggest that anyone interested visit the photographer's website, or the videographer's. Both were excellent. We are so happy for the couple, and were delighted to be in the temple with them. You can't really see it here, but the sunset over the water was stunning; a bonus for the lovely reception.

I wish I knew the band's name

Morgan's band rocked a Provo frozen yogurt store. We were there to witness it. AJ took 300 pictures while we were there, and I have managed to find a frame where Morgan appears to be smiling! We had a good time, and enjoyed experiencing Morgan out in the wild.

NotSanta and Walter

Isn't my cousin Travis awesome? If any of you know a single lady with a thing for Santa, let me know. Travis is actually 26 years old, very smart, with a great sense of humor.

cell phone photos from our vacation

So, AJ and I went to Vegas for the opening night of the National Finals Rodeo. Highly enjoyable, if a bit of a quick trip. It was much better letting him do the hotel arrangements. We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel, in a very nice room, within walking distance of the arena. When I pick the hotel, we stay in the cheapest, and by extension, grossest place available.
This photo clearly illustrates how much Walter was missing us, being taken care of by my mom.

Thanksgiving

We were thankful to get together with Grandpa Evans, his daughters, and their families.

I found a reason to be thankful that Morgan ignores my blog. He'll never know that I posted this very rare photo of him smiling.

I am thankful that Walter has found his thumb. It really comes in handy. I am also thankful that he will stop sucking it before it becomes detrimental to his dental health. He's good like that.

Pumpkin Pie

While AJ was at Elder's Quorum meetings on Sunday, I made my very first pumpkin pie! Crust from scratch and all. Very exciting. I decided to let Walter try it, as he always wants our food, and we can give him vegetables anyway, but I have been too busy to really do it. Anyway, I gave him a tiny little bit. He stopped moving, and was completely stunned. I figured it was because the pie was from the fridge and it was really cold. Then he started gagging really bad, gave a shudder that went from his head to his toes, and barfed sour milk over both of us. AJ couldn't stop laughing.

So, question-- Is this normal? After I got all insulted about my pie, we tried other things, that are actually meant for babies. He hates them all. He will eat a ton of oatmeal or rice cereal, so yesterday after he hated a mashed up banana, we mixed it with the oatmeal, and it went over better. It even took a while to get him to eat the oatmeal, since he figured it was still just banana. We also have one of those mesh things, that you can put soft food in, and they can chew it through the mesh. He won't let it even touch his lips. This is the kid that will happily chew on the bottom of your dirty shoe, so I don't get it.

Here is a picture of him when he first started eating cereal. Notice how great his scar looks.

Six Months Old

So, I had all these awesome plans to do something for his six month birthday, even though Aryon says that it's not a birthday, but whatever. Sadly, the two of us were out of commission today, so my lovely mother took Walter for the whole day. Maybe I will do a cake tomorrow.

AJ's Nose Job

The turbinates were restricting his breathing... so they were surgically reduced.

Photos of coagulated-blood barf not included.

Dah...Dah...Dah...Dahh (Part 2)

Walter gets very chatty as he gets tired.

Dah...Dah...Dah...Dahh

Although a fultile attempt at speaking, Walter does make enormous headway in making silly faces. (not too bad being captured on a phone camera)

Diwali

We went to Diwali down at the Hare Krisha Temple in Spanish Fork. Emily and her awesome husband Dave joined us as well. I wish we had been there earlier in the day to get more pictures. And yes, you guessed it! That is a Boon cap on my boy! Rock on, Uncle Mark!

Nosefrida!

That stupid nose bulb thing is no match for my son. So we bought a Nosefrida, and we love it! Well, I love it more than Walter does. This may not be a good picture of it in action, but these boys sure are cute.

Before and After

Poor Walter was angelic the entire time. He is incredible!
